Sadly, many are oblivious to the warning signs of an unhealthy relationship, while others recognize the red flags, but remain in denial.

Signs of unhealthy relationships can be so subtle it’s easy to dust them under the rug or excuse them as kind of rough patches all relationships go through, or they may be as clear as day.

Regardless of whether these issues seem big or small to anyone else, no one should feel as though they have to settle for anything less than a loving, healthy relationship.

Healthy relationships are worth the work, with scientific evidence to back it up.

In a study of 1,621 individuals, those who were in committed relationships experienced mental health issues and were less likely to be overweight or obese, and they reported having greater well-being overall.

Being in a respectful partnership should honestly be the bare minimum you ask for from someone you love and who says they love you.

It’s easy to lose yourself when your love for somebody else consumes your entire being, but you can (and should) feel that you can love without compromising your own well-being.
