“I’m a real Yoruba man” – Singer Asake tells those critic!zing him for always singing in Yoruba in new video

In a recent live video, Asake addressed some concerns with regards to why he sings songs only in Yoruba language.

He made some clarifications about the question, stating that he’s more comfortable singing in Yoruba language than English, but every once in a while, he sprinkles a little bit of English in his songs.

Asake also went on to say that singing in English isn’t meant for him, and that he can’t change who he is, which is being a real Yoruba man.

All of Asake’s songs are sung in Yoruba, and even the ones that are predominantly in English or have foreign artists featured still have elements of Yoruba language in it.

Netizens were clearly in support of Asake’s explanation and that fact that he only wants to sing in Yoruba, and they took to the comments to show their support.
