According to Sky Sports Germany, Die Roten left-back Alphonso Davies is currently demanding a new contract worth €20 million (R412 million) a year.

The record Bundesliga champions are believed to not be willing to pay this amount, but according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, personal terms with the Canadian are not an issue for Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old is approaching the final year of his contract, and is currently still in talks over an extension with the 33-time German champions, but with it seeming unlikely they will reach an agreement, Los Blancos appear to be in prime position to bolster their fullback position with his addition.

However, whether or not Real sign Davies before the beginning of next season could be contingent at what price Bayern are willing to sell for.

It is claimed that the Bavarian giants are looking for between €50 million and €60 million (R1 billion and R1.2 billion) for his signature, but Los Merengues are expected to enter negotiations with as low a bid as possible.

If the two teams fail to reach an agreement, then the Spanish juggernauts are believed to be willing to wait until the end of the 2024/25 campaign, when they will be able to sign him as free agent.
