Benzema Set For Shock EPL Move After Rejecting MLS Offer?

Karim Benzema has now been linked with a shock move to Arsenal.

2022 Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema could reportedly be set for a shock move to certain Premier League giant amid reports that he rejected a proposal from the United States.

The French susperstar became one of Saudi Arabia’s blockbuster signings when he moved from Real Madrid to Al-Ittihad in July 2023.

The 36-year-old has had a mixed start to life in the Middle East, drawing criticism for allegedly not showing up for training for consecutive days in December.

As a result, it is reported that his relationship with the club has since been strained and a shock departure could now be on the cards. According to Itti Studio, American outfit Los Angeles FC sumitted a proposal for the striker, offering a three-year contract with an annual salary of $10 million (R187 million).

Benzema is said to have declined the offer, citing that he currently earns more in Saudi Arabia.

Premier League giants Arsenal are now considering the possibility of signing the marksman, although they are said to be also looking at Nigerian star Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney of Brentford.

Benzema, alongside the likes of Jordan Henderson and Roberto Firmino, are reportedly keen on leaving The Gulf State due to a range of factors, including low stadium attendance, culture, and climate.

The centre-forward has contributed 12 goals and five assists in 20 matches in all competitions, according to Transfermarkt.
