Venue: Stade de Bouake

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile spearheaded the attack for the Brave Warriors, supported by Cape Town City-bound forward Prins Tjiueza, Deon Hotto of Orlando Pirates and Black Leopards’ Bethuel Muzeu.

Angola, who topped their group and qualified with an unbeaten record, had a shaky start after goalkeeper Neblu was red-carded on 17 minutes for handling the ball outside of his area and denied Muzeu a goal-scoring opportunity.

The rhythm of the game could not get going, as Namibia had an injury blow seven minutes later after Tjiueza picked up an injury and he was replaced by Absalom Limbondi.

Collin Benjamin’s charges had the momentum but they were caught napping seven minutes before the break after Gelson Dala was at the end of a well-worked move by Angola.

Namibia shot themselves in the foot just two minutes later after they were also down to ten men after Lubeni Haukongo got his second yellow card and was sent off.

The Palancas Negras capitalized on the spaces that opened up in the box as Dala doubled their lead moments later with a header on the far side that found the top corner.Namibia had a positive start in the second stanza after Shalulile came close to pulling a goal back four minutes from the break with a strike that sailed narrowly over the crossbar.

Angola were happy to bide their time before attacking and Mabululu eventually put the result beyond doubt with 24 minutes remaining after he made it 3-0 with a powerful shot from the edge of the box.

The writing was on the wall for Namibia in the closing stages and Palancas Negras almost ran riot in stoppages after Zito Luvumbo had a cracking strike that came off the crossbar.

Namibia existed the tournament while Angola will face the winner between Nigeria and Cameroon in the quarter-finals.
