CAF CL Prize Money ‘Revealed’ After End Of Group Stage


The prize money for the 2023/24 CAF Champions League has reportedly been revealed.

Following the conclusion of the competition’s group stage, the prize money for this season’s CAF Champions League has reportedly been revealed.

After Simba SC’s emphatic 6-0 win over Jwaneng Galaxy in Dar es Salaam, and Esperance des Tunis’ narrow 1-0 victory over Sudanese outfit Al Hilal, the final two teams that will be participating in the quarter-finals of the continent’s premier club competition have been confirmed.

Simba, Esperance, Al Ahly, Mamelodi Sundowns, Petro de Luanda, TP Mazembe, Young Africans and ASEC Mimosas are the remaining eight teams in the Champions League, and according to Yallakorra, each of those team will receive at least $900 000 (R17.1 million) for making it this far.

Those that progress to, and are then eliminated from, the semi-finals are said to be set to get $1.2 million (R22.8 million) from African football’s governing body.

The runners-up of the 2023/24 CAF CL will reportedly receive $2 million (R38 million), while the winners of the competition will get double that, with $4 million (R76 million) expected to be handed to the champions.

It is further claimed that those that exited the competition at the group stage will not go home empty-handed, with those eight teams believed to be set to receive $700 000 (R13.3 million).
