Loaned out Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood is reportedly willing to reject Barcelona’s transfer advances on one condition.

The Blaugrana have been linked with a transfer for the one-cap England international following his performances for Getafe this season.

The Bradford native has adapted well to football in Spain, scoring seven goals and bagging five assists in the 24 appearances he has made for the Deep Blue Ones during the 2023/24 campaign so far.

This has reportedly led Barcelona to consider bringing the versatile forward to the Camp Nou, with Greenwood believed to also be keen on the move.

However, according to The Sun, if United reopen the door for his return, then he would reject a move to Barca and opt to stay at Old Trafford.

It previously appeared that the 22-year-old would never play for the Red Devils again after the club released a statement claiming that it would be best for the academy graduate to continue his career elsewhere, but with United’s new minority owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, seemingly softening the side’s stance on the pacey winger, he would be happy to return to Carrington.

The same report states that Greenwood feels as though he is in debt to the Manchester club’s fans and manager Erik ten Hag after he was acquitted of charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control, and wants to redeem himself.

Ten Hag is said to have been open to reintegrating him to the squad once his court case was dismissed, and so were the club, but the United hierarchy ended up succumbing to public pressure against his return, ultimately loaning him out to Getafe.
