Lyle Foster’s Burnley ‘Make Decision’ On Kompany

Burnley have reportedly made a decision on Vincent Kompany future at the club.

Lyle Foster’s Burnley have reportedly made a decision on manager Vincent Kompany’s future amid the club’s poor run of form.

The Clarets are not having the best of times at the moment, as they are in the midst of a nine-match winless streak across all competitions.

This past weekend, they were subjected to a 3-0 defeat away at Selhurst Park to Crystal Palace in the league, leaving them in 19th place on the division’s log, 11 points behind safety and Nottingham Forest.

Kompany took charge at Turf Moor in 2022, and completely changed the club’s traditional style of play, with Burnley going from being an institution that primarily utilised route one football to playing a more expansive style under the 37-year-old Belgian.

That brought them success in the EFL Championship as they were promoted straight to the Premier League, but that attractive football has not yielded any success in the English top flight, which is believed to have frustrated a certain section of the team’s fanbase.

However, according to The Athletic, supporters of the club will have to stick with the ex-central defender for a bit longer as the owners do not plan to fire the Uccle native even if the side gets relegated.

Getting out of their current slump will be tough considering they are without the services of their South African talisman Foster, who is currently on the sidelines recovering from a surgery. The Johannesburg-born attacker is Burnley’s joint-top goalscorer and their top assist-provider this season, so Kompany will have to depend on goals being created from elsewhere in the forward’s absence.
