According to FootballTransfers, the Red Devils are looking into the possibility of signing Canada international Jonathan David.

The 23-year-old represents Lille in France and has contributed to an impressive 85 goals in 160 matches since his debut for the club in 2020.

David has been on the radar of several top sides in recent years, with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa also believed to be monitoring his situation.

The striker, who is closing in on 50 international caps for Canada, has 18 months left on his deal in Ligue 1 and could be available in this transfer window for £34 million (R807 million).

Lille reportedly do not want to see David leave at this time, but could have their hand forced should an appropriate offer for his services arrive.

Erik ten Hag’s attacking options have underwhelmed in front of goal this season so far, with Hojlund having only netted once in the Premier League since his arrival from Atalanta.
