Man Utd transfer news: 21 players could leave in UNPRECEDENTED summer exodus

Marcus Rashford, Antony, Man Utd, 2023/24

There are 21 Manchester United players who could leave the Old Trafford in the summer, according to a report.

The Manchester Evening News reports that “sales are more essential than ever” at the Red Devils and, as such, there is an extensive list of players who could depart.

While Man Utd are not counting on all of these players leaving the club, there is likely to be an extensive turnover in playing staff, with only a select few players secure at Old Trafford.

This reflects the backroom scene, with widespread alterations in the setup of the club probable. Manager Erik ten Hag is among those who faces losing his job.

United will not be able to find buyers for all of the players who are up for sale, with issues like large wage packets a stumbling block, yet these are the 21 names who could move on in the summer.

  • Tom Heaton
  • Aaron Wan-Bissaka
  • Raphael Varane
  • Victor Lindelof
  • Jonny Evans
  • Harry Maguire
  • Casemiro
  • Christian Eriksen
  • Sofyan Amrabat
  • Scott McTominay
  • Anthony Martial
  • Marcus Rashford
  • Antony
  • Omari Forson
  • Amad Diallo
  • Facundo Pellistri
  • Donny van de Beek
  • Hannibal Mejbri
  • Jadon Sancho
  • Mason Greenwood
  • Brandon Williams

Ratcliffe’s job highlighted

There are no real surprises in this list, which only serves to highlight the extensive work Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his new backroom team will have to do over the course of the summer.

Indeed, this is a task that is set to take several transfer windows to fix, with all these players liable to be fazed out of the first-team picture at Old Trafford over the next 18 months to two years.

One of the few who still seems in a position to salvage his Man Utd career is Marcus Rashford, though after recent reports that the squad have started to turn against him, he will have to dramatically turn around his recent form and attitude in order to do this.
