Man Utd transfer news: Juventus want Diomande to replace United and Spurs target Bremer

Juventus are looking at Sporting CP’s Ousmane Diomande as a potential replacement for Premier League-bound Gleison Bremer, according to a report in Italy.

Bremer signed a new Juventus contract back in December, tying him to the club until 2028, but that hasn’t stopped reports linking the Brazilian with a move away.

Juve protected their investment with the new contract and there is no doubt that the 26-year-old could move on this summer if the price is right.

The Italians would look for around €60 million to €70 million for the 26-year-old, now out on his own as the best defender in Serie A.

It’s been reported that Manchester United could strike and his blend of leadership and physicality would mark him out as an Old Trafford favourite.

Likewise, Tottenham have been credited with interest and have a good track record in recent seasons of recruitment in Serie A in the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie.

Diomande’s rapid Sporting rise

Should Bremer move on then Juve would be in the market for a replacement centre back and Tuttosport is claiming that Diomande is on their list.

Diomande, 20, has been outstanding for Sporting since his move to Lisbon from Midtjylland in January 2023.

He spent the first part of that season on loan with second-tier Mafra, with the scale of his performances persuading Sporting to cut in with a bid.

The initial fee was only €7.5 million, possibly rising to €12.5m, meaning Sporting will be guaranteed a hefty profit when he is sold although the Danes will be owed a 20 percent sell-on fee.

The Ivorian is under contract until 2027 and has a buyout clause in his contract worth €80m.

Alongside central defensive colleague Goncalo Inacio, has attracted the attention of big clubs around the continent.

Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool have both been mentioned as suitors for the Africa Cup of Nations champion, whose future remains unresolved.

Sporting players and coach in demand

Sporting’s resolve will also be tested this summer with bids for Viktor Gyokeres, their superstar striker who is destined to move back to England.

Arsenal and Chelsea are reported to be interested in the Swedish hitman, who has a €100m clause in his contract.

Manager Ruben Amorim, meanwhile, is also in demand with Liverpool and Barcelona both reckoned to be keeping tabs.
