The Argentine shocked the world in 2021 when he left Barcelona after the Catalan giants were unable to renew his contract as initially promised.

A move to Les Parisiens ensued and while a front three of the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, Mbappe and Neymar was expected to set Europe alight, their partnership lasted only two seasons as the trio failed to bring the European success the club has long desired.

The Rosario native in particular struggled to win over the PSG fanbase as he was subjected to massive amounts of criticism with each UEFA Champions League exit.

While he may not have been as prolific in front of goal in Paris as he was during his Barca days, his football genius was still appreciated within the confines of the Parc des Princes as his other abilities still shone through.

He scored only 32 goals during his time with the record Ligue 1 champions but also assisted 35 other strikes, with Mbappe being the recipient of many of those, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has now revealed that he misses playing with the Argentina captain.

“Playing with Leo Messi is definitely something I miss a lot,” the Bondy native told Amazon Prime Sport.

“You always miss not playing with Leo Messi anymore!

“For an attacker like me, who likes to attack spaces, with him you have the certainty that you can get the ball. It was a luxury that almost only he can give you.

“Beyond that, playing with Messi was special.”
