Having not played a single competitive match since late August, 23-year-old Sancho has finally completed a loan return to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.

The winger, who joined United from BVB in 2021 in a deal worth €85 million (R1.7 billion), fell out with head coach Erik ten Hag in early September after being left out of a match day squad to take on Arsenal in the Premier League.

Ten Hag explained Sancho’s poor training performances meant he did not warrant a place in his side, comments the former Manchester City youth academy player took issue with in a post he made on social media.

Sancho has still not apologised for disputing his manager’s remarks publicly, and has been training away from the senior group since the incident.

It is believed a final decision over the winger’s future will be made at the end of the campaign.
