Speaking in a recent interview, ex-Real Madrid midfielder Thomas Gravesen said that he had a conversation with the French tactician about his potential return to the sidelines, having last worked in 2021.

The Dane claims Zidane informed him he would only coach Marseille, Los Blancos and Les Bleus, suggesting that the possibility of him working for the Red Devils is unlikely.

“I spoke to Zidane in Madrid two years ago. He told me there are only ‘two and a half jobs’ he would accept. Marseille, Real Madrid and France,” he said, according to Diario AS.

“Regarding United? He would want a large budget to build a team. Because it’s difficult to do anything with the team Erik ten Hag has at the moment.

“But, if the right coach came in at the right time, the situation could change.”
