FC Barcelona legend Gerard Pique, has confirmed his return to football.
FC Barcelona legend Gerard Pique has confirmed he will be returning to football just over a year since he announced his retirement.
The former defender announced his retirement from the sport in November 2022 midway through a campaign that Barca would eventually win the LALIGA title.
The former centre-back is one of the most decorated defenders in history, with a cabinet of 31 trophies during a 19-year career.

He has now announced his comeback to football, although this time it will be as a coach.
“It’s a new year and after thinking carefully I have decided to return to football,” Pique wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I miss it a lot.”
“This time it won’t be as a player. It will be as a coach. I’ll share more details at the end of the week.”
After retiring in 2022, the Spaniard launched the seven-aside Kings League, a competition that has featured the likes of fellow Blaugrana icon Ronaldinho and former Argentina striker Sergio Aguero.
It is unclear yet where Pique will coach but during his farewell speech at the Camp Nou when he hang-up his boots, he vowed that he would one-day return to the club, according to Spanish outlet AS.
He said: “In life, when you get older, you realize that sometimes to love is to let go.
“I’m convinced that I’ll be here again in the future.
“I love Barca. That’s why I consider it’s the right moment to go.
“This is not a goodbye. I was born here, I’ll die here.”
